Bortianor landguard Attack: Police retrieve four weapons

The Ghana Police Service have retrieved one AK 47 Assault rifle, ten rounds of AL 47 ammunition, one pump action gun with nine rounds of BB cartridges, two pistols with ten rounds of 9 mm ammunition, one unregistered Toyota Tacoma pickup, four motor bikes of which three are unregistered a knife and a pepper spray.

In a press statement cited by Campaigneronline.com it indicated that the Police conducted an operation targeted at crimnal elements involved in robbery and landguard activities.

These individuals according to the statement were terrorizing residents and land owners in Bortianor and nearby communities prompting the police to look into the matter.

The statement further indicated that some other suspects who are believed to have sustained gunshot wounds during the operation are on the run thus urging residents to be on the look out for them.

“We appeal to the public, especially residents of Bortianor to report promptly any induviduals with gunshot wounds who may be seeking medical treatment.” the statement noted.
