The Bono East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Ibrahim Baba Bukari, is in a critical condition after a motorcycle he was using for campaigning ahead of the June 27 by elections was hit by an over speeding vehicle at Assin Bereku in the Assin North District of the Central Region.
According to the Assin North NPP secretary who confirmed the incident to the media, the wounded chairman has been airlifted to Accra from the St. Francis Xavier hospital where he was first admitted.
“Our brother the Bono East Regional Chairman has been with us and campaigning since the date was set for the election. Moving from one area to another area to campaign by vehicle is a big challenge and so the chairman decided to use a motorcycle to campaign. Some unknown individuals in a black salon car attacked him after he decided to head to Assin Bereku. After the incident they sped off”Asamoah the constituency secretary said.
