As part of its 15th Anniversary celebrations, the House of Promise Chapel International hosted a thrilling football tournament, pitting its various assemblies against each other in a battle for glory. The Ashaiman, Doryumu, Akuse Kadjanya, and Krachi branches of the church all brought their best players to the field in a gripping competition that captured the attention of fans and football scouts alike.
The tournament, which culminated in a high-octane final, showcased not just the players’ football skills, but also their passion and commitment to the sport. The highlight of the event was the keen interest shown by, manager of 3rd division football club Fano FC Mr. Frank Adjatey Okyirifo. Impressed by the talent on display, Mr. Okyirefo singled out four standout players, offering them an opportunity to try out for his team.
“I was amazed by the level of skill and raw talent in this tournament,” Okyirefo remarked. “There are so many young players out there who are not able to showcase their abilities because they don’t have the financial means to travel for justification matches. It’s a shame because we’re missing out on incredible talent.”
Okyirefo called on his fellow agents and football administrators to rethink their scouting approach. “We need to stop relying only on organized justification matches where players are often under immense pressure to perform. Instead, we should venture into communities, attend local matches, and observe players where they’re most comfortable. That’s where you’ll find the true gems.”
This sentiment was echoed by the General Overseer of the church, Apostle Daniel Tetteh Siaw, who has long been an advocate for youth development. “The youth are the future of our country and our church,” he stated. “That’s why we, as a church, are committed to not only nurturing their talents but also their moral growth.”
Apostle Emmanuel Kwame Asamoah, the Church Father, took the opportunity to remind the young players about the importance of investing in their spiritual lives as much as their football careers. “Success in life is not just about what you can do on the pitch,” he advised. “Put your faith in God, and He will guide you to become leaders in your communities.”
He also took a moment to caution the youth against falling prey to political violence in the upcoming elections. “Do not allow yourselves to be used for violence or any negative activity. Your future is bright, and you must protect it.”
As the dust settled on the tournament, it became clear that this wasn’t just a celebration of football—it was a celebration of community, faith, and the unrecognized potential that exists in every corner of Ghana. The House of Promise Chapel International had not only thrown a memorable anniversary event but also helped uncover the future stars of Ghanaian football.
