Mahama announces key security appointments, Kofi Boakye is Director of Operations at Presidency

President John Dramani Mahama has made significant appointments to strengthen Ghana’s national security framework, reflecting his commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens and enhancing the nation’s security capabilities.

Former Chief of Staff, Prosper Douglas Bani, has been appointed as the National Security Advisor to the President.

Mr. Bani, a former Minister for the Interior, brings extensive experience and expertise to this critical role.

In addition, DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak has been named the National Security Coordinator, tasked with ensuring a cohesive strategy across all national security initiatives.

Retired COP Nathan Kofi Boakye has been appointed as the Director of Operations at the Presidency, where he will oversee the operational effectiveness of Ghana’s security measures.

Charles Kipo has also been appointed as the Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), a key position that will focus on intelligence operations and the overall safety of the nation.

The appointments, announced by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, underscore the government’s commitment to enhancing national security.

These individuals are expected to bring their wealth of knowledge and leadership to their respective roles, contributing to a safer and more secure Ghana.
