His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has explained the exclusion of the Ministry of Information from the current list of ministries under his administration.
According to Mahama, the Ministry of State in Charge of Communication will handle the responsibilities typically managed by the Ministry of Information, ensuring the flow of information to and from the Presidency.
“The structure we’ve put in place is designed to bring information into the Presidency, which is why we have a minister specifically in charge of government communication,” he stated.
Mahama also emphasized the need to modernize and strengthen the Information Services Department to improve public access to information. “One of the tasks remaining is to bring the Information Services Department under the Presidency and transform it from a traditional civil service entity into a modern organization that ensures the guaranteed flow of information to the public,” he added.
