Must Read

The Supreme Court has hauled a National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart and university of Ghana lecturer, Dr Michael Kpessa-Whyte, over comments he made against the apex court, which it considered contemptuous.

Dr Michael Kpessa Whyte has been summoned to the Supreme Court to give reasons why the court should not hold him for contempt, for allegedly disrespecting the judicial body by referring to it as”stupid court.”

This follows a tweet by Dr. Michael Kpessa -Whyte, where he stated that the supreme court had been turned into “stupid court” after accusing the judicial body of being partisan and lacking common sense.

According to reports, Dr. Kpesa’d comment was against the backdrop of an order from the Supreme Court to take James Gyakyie Quayson’s name from the Parliament’s record after breaching the law during nominations and election in 2020.
