Sempe Mantse Nii Otintor Angry Over ‘modified’ ban on noise-making

Must Read

The Ga State Mankralo, Nii Adotey Otintor II, has expressed anger about a recent meeting between the Regional House of Chiefs and government officials, which outcome seem to tweak the ban on noise-making in the Greater Accra Region.

Nii Otintor, who is also the Chief of Sempe, posited that what happened at the Regional House of Chiefs was null and void because there was no quorum to take any decision of such nature.

“Some of us will never allow what has happened to stand. We will defend the Ga tradition with our everything. We’ll not accept it. It would can’t stand. We’ll not allow it,” Nii Otinkor said.

He also disclosed that ninety per cent (90%)of the people who gathered at the Regional House of Chiefs to take that decision did not have the capacity to do so.

For instance, his said Nuumo Gbelenfo is only a family priest who is not a member of the Regional House of Chiefs to be able to make decisions for the house.

The priests recognised by the regional, according to Nii Sempe, are Naai Wulomo, Sakumo Wulomo, Korle Wulome, and Gbobu Wolomo.

In an audio in far away USA, the Ga State Mankralo, called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to step in and stop his officials from the disrespect they hold for the Ga State.

“They are not concerned about the more pressing things like sanitation but rather interested in tweaking the custom of the Ghana State,” Nii lamented.

The Sempe Mantse, therefore, called on all well-meanig Gas to me calm and rest assured that the decision by the contrived members of the Regional House of Chiefs and the government officials would not hold.

Recall that a statement issued by the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, after a meeting between the the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey and some government officials, after a meeting at the Dodowa Regional House of Chiefs, stated that the clergy could use microphones at reduced volumes in churches and auditoriums.

It also said that the clapping of hands at minimum level was allowed in church auditoriums only.

The statement, however, entreated all to abide by the customs and traditions of the Ga Traditional Area and other subsequent areas.

It is this statement that has irked the movers and shakers of the Ga State.
