Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has secured a convincing win in the NPP super delegates conference in the Upper East Region.
He polled 31 votes out 36 total valid votes cast to beat the other nine contestants in the Saturday polls.
Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, came second with three votes.
Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, former Minister of Trade and Industry, and Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former Minister of Food and Agriculture, each polled one vote.
The rest had no votes.
The exercise, which began at about 0900 hours at the Bolgatanga Technical University, ended smoothly at about 1300 hours.
Mr Anthony Anamoo, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the Party, commended the delegates for the peaceful election.
He indicated that the election was the first step of choosing a good candidate to lead the party to break the eight in 2024.
He said the NPP was poised to retaining power and asked the various supporters to unite behind whoever was chosen as the flagbearer to ensure victory.
