Bawjiase: Police Women Association launched

Must Read

The Bawjiase District Police Command has launched the Police Spouse Association with the aim of empowering spouses of the men in uniform to support their husbands and wives to succeed in their chosen field.

According to the District Commander DSP Felicia Ayensu, the move will also serve as a monitor to also check on police officers regularly through the lenses of their spouse.

“The rational behind the formation of this group is to keep the spouses of the Police officers closer to us. This will also help us monitor what they go through on daily basis since the work they do is one that demands a lot of time, dedication and attention”DSP Felicia Ayensu said.

Speaking at this year’s West Africa Security Services Association gathering, the District Commander noted that the leadership of the Police in Bawjiase will keep constant contact with the group to ensure that all is well.

The District Commander explained that the job of the police has moved from being stationary to more of engagement adding that the only way to fight crime is to engage the citizenry.

“Gone were the days when we sit in our offices and wait for conplains. Now we move into the communities, engage in public forums, etc and this helps us relate well in the community where we operate. This will so help us realize our core mandate which is the protection of lives and properties “DSP Felicia Ayensu said.

Member of Parliament for the area Gizella Tetteh Agbotui was elated with the work of the police in the enclave adding that the Police are up to the task when it comes to fighting crime in the enclave.

” I must say am exceptionally happy with the work of the Police in this area for keeping us safe. We will all do our best by providing the necessary logistics needed to help in the fight against crime” Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West Gizella Tetteh Agbotui said.
