President Nana Akufo-Addo is scheduled to visit the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah today, Friday, 8 September 2023, where he will symbolically activate the valve to mark the official commencement of oil production from the Jubilee South-East Area.
This area, a segment of the larger Jubilee Field, has attracted a substantial $1 billion investment from its partners and is anticipated to contribute 30,000 barrels of oil per day to the Jubilee Field’s production by year-end.
During his visit, President Akufo-Addo will engage with select personnel on the FPSO and conduct inspections of critical sections of the KNK vessel. Subsequently, he will participate in a special luncheon event in Takoradi.
The consortium of partners involved in this endeavour includes Tullow Oil: 38.978%, Kosmos Energy: 24.077%, Kosmos Energy Ghana Investments: 14.534%, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation: 13.641%, Petro SA: 2.725%, Jubilee Oil Holdings Limited: 6.045%.
