Ga North MCE Urges Residents to Support Police to Improve Security

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Ga North Municipal Assembly, Hon Simon Sekyim has called on the residents within the Municipality to help improve security by supporting the police service in acquisition of some amenities in the discharge of their duties.

In an interview with Peace FM News during the breakfast meeting organized by the Ga North Municipal Assembly to the business community within the municipality, in order to raise funds to purchase pick-ups for the police service in the municipality, he said that, the population and properties within the municipality keeps increasing exponentially therefore security needs to be a priority and the people cannot solely rely on government to provide the Police with resources and logistics to improve effectiveness in their operations.

Hon. Simon Sekyim said that, security is a collective responsibility, and each citizen has a role to play therefore instituted the meeting to support the Police with resources to help the assembly achieve its vision of making the municipality safe by providing logistics.

He commended the Business Community for their generous contribution during the breakfast meeting towards the security in the municipality, adding that, the contribution has exceeded his expectation.

Nana Kobo, a Businessman within the municipality who spoke on behalf of the Business Community in an interview with Peace News also stressed on the importance of equipping the police service to boost up security in the municipality and commended the MCE for his initiative to bringing the business community together to help the police service
