Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has released official documents to confirm his residential status at Airport Hills, following allegations that he misrepresented his occupancy of the property during his parliamentary vetting.

The controversy arose after Ablakwa, duringl his appearance before the Appointments Committee on January 31, 2025, stated that he rents his residence at Plot 565, No. 1 Wilshire Boulevard, Airport Hills, Accra. In the aftermath of his statement, accusations emerged suggesting that he actually owns the property, prompting him to formally request verification from Finali Limited, the real estate management company overseeing Airport Hills.

In a letter dated February 3, 2025, addressed to Finali Limited, Ablakwa granted consent for the company to disclose details of his tenancy to the Appointments Committee. He emphasized his commitment to transparency and accountability, allowing Finali Limited to provide information on the property’s ownership, the size of the land, and their rental policies.

In response, Finali Limited, through its Director of Administration, Bernice Among, confirmed that the property in question belongs to Husni Altheebeh, who was issued a Land Title Certificate on December 15, 2017. The company further provided documentation of a tenancy agreement signed on March 1, 2017, between Altheebeh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa & Nuhela Seidu, with a renewal agreement dated March 1, 2022, indicating that the tenancy remains in effect.

Finali Limited reiterated that Airport Hills is an owner-occupied community with limited rental options, requiring the company’s consent for tenancy agreements. Copies of the land title certificate, tenancy agreements, and renewal documents were attached as evidence.
