Must Read

Minister for Education Minister, Yaw Osei Adutwum, says the impact the Akufo-Addo government has made on education cannot be disputed.

The Free Senior High School policy (Free SHS) introduced by President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in September 2017 is so far delivering results by improving access to education, as contained in some statistical reports.

Although the program received numerous criticisms, it is believed to be one of the best programs introduced by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

After the implementation of free SHS, the Ghana Education Service (GES) with funding support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is implementing a four-year gender-responsive pedagogy project that generally seeks to improve the competency of Junior High School (JHS) girls in Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering (STEM) Education in two regions, Central and Eastern, across 10 districts, 5 districts in each of the two regions.

A total of 400 Junior High Schools, 200 from each participating region, are beneficiaries of this ongoing project.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s Ghana Nie with host Nana Yaw Fianko, Minister for Education Minister, Yaw Osei Adutwum revealed that President Akufo-Addo’s impact on Education is unmatched.

He noted that the Akufo-Addo-led administration expanded schools and added many innovative projects including libraries, and laboratories to make teaching and learning conducive.
