Armed thugs demolish properties at Tse Addo; police asked to intervene

Must Read

Some armed men on January 12, 2025, demolished a property belonging to Intatec Iconic Enterprise Ltd. at Tse Addo in Accra.

Even though the land on which the property is cited is subject to litigation in court, the armed thugs proceeded with their evil intent.

“…my boss received a call at 1 a.m. on January 12, 2025, about the destruction of our properties at the site. Our caretaker witnessed armed men, some in military outfits, causing unlawful damage to the property, setting fires, and stealing motorbikes and construction materials. Many of them issued threats, allegedly backed by high authorities,” Eric Nyarko, Operations Director of Intatec Iconic Enterprise Ltd said in statement.

He disclosed that the company was acquired along with its assets and liabilities. “The company has held a land title certificate since 2014, with rightful ownership of the land under discussion. We have been in possession since then, as evidenced by the structures and walls we have erected, which have now been vandalized,” he said.

According to Eric Nyarko, there is an ongoing case before the High Courts in Accra concerning the particular land and that there was an injunction application which was granted to restrain all parties.

“We have respected the court’s ruling and, consequently, halted any development activity on the land. We believed all parties adhered to the ruling, expecting the matter to be heard soon”

He noted that the company has asked the police to investigate the matter. “We hope they will identify those culpable and prosecute them. Although we have our suspicions, we will not speculate in the media. Instead, we will focus on pursuing justice through the courts,” the company said.
