Assin North Has Decided to Go With NPP

Must Read

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it will recapture the Assin North seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) when elections are held on Tuesday 27th June 2023.

This the party says is as a result of it’s several engagements with constituents and the numerous projects by the Akufo-Addo led administration.

Tuesday’s by election is a straight race between the NPP’s Charles Opoku and the NDC’s Gyakye Quayson who was ousted as MP for the area via a Supreme Court ruling that found errors in his candidature in the 2020 elections due to his status as dual citizen at the time.

General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua, at a final rally in Assin Breku was optimistic “the NPP will recapture the Assin North seat, this is because the voters have found out that their bets with NPP have yielded better development outcomes. Believe it!”

He added that: “We are delivering on our development mandate in Assin North. Delivered good roads, building two major hospitals; completed a polyclinic; expanding market blocks, school blocks and dormitories, etc.”

Lawyer Kodua said the people of Assin North deserve a development oriented member of Parliament and Charles Opoku has through his Akosua Baako Foundation embarked on numerous social projects and interventions and is the best person to represent them in parliament.
