Bush fires affecting power supply – ECG

The management of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has said uncontrolled bush burning especially in this harmattan season is impacting the quality of power supply.

The electricity distribution company noted that setting of fires to clear bushes across the country more often than not end up burning their electricity poles and distribution lines causing serious damage to their network system.

This the ECG says results in outages and inconvenience to its customers.

The company has urged the public to use fire belts to prevent uncontrolled bush burning.
