Dr. Bawumia may fulfil his promises – Lydia Forson

Must Read

Ghanaian actress, writer, and producer, Lydia Forson has advised the vice president and the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his campaign team to work hard to make Ghanaians understand his policies and principles ahead of the December 7 general elections.

The actress said Dr. Bawumia might be able to fulfil his promises so the only thing he has to do is to let Ghanaians believe and trust him enough to vote for him.

“It’s also interesting how Dr.Bawumia’s team will credit him for the things this government has achieved; but dissociate him for any of its failures.

Truth is Dr. Bawumia may do everything he’s promising; his work now is to make us believe him enough to vote for him.” She wrote on her X.

Among other things Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia promised during his recent public speech at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) to outline his vision for the 2024 general elections were that his administration will work to reduce the cost of public transport between 30-40% with the adoption of electric vehicles for public transportation.

He also said his administration will abolish the E-levy and betting tax. He added that national service will no longer be mandatory for tertiary students after completion of their schools.

Dr Bawumia further indicated that his major priority of his government will be to reduce the cost of living.

One statement that has become a subject of discussion particularly the members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is that he is just a driver’s mate and that he doesn’t have power to make decisions for himself so Ghanaians should make him the driver.

Commenting on this, Lydia Forson questioned what point of all his economic lectures & strategies that helped the NPP come into power and asked whether the president ignored his advice.

“Again why did the NPP believe Dr.Bawumia was the best choice when he has so much working against him.”

Unless they’re counting on the blind following of their party members, I don’t get it.

But I also believe even party faithfuls NPP/NDC are more descerning these days.

“So basically Dr. Bawumia’s people are saying he had no real power under our president and was just a shadow?”

“What then, was the point of all his economic lectures & strategies that helped the NPP come into power.”

“Is he also alleging his “advise” was ignored by our president?” Lydia Forson quizzed.
