About eight passengers, including a senior high school student, are nursing varying degrees of injuries following an accident involving a Kasoa-Madina bound commercial vehicle on the Kasoa-Mallam highway.
The driver of the sprinter bus with registration GR 6669-13, according to eyewitnesses, lost control of the steering wheel after he was crossed by another vehicle, which was joining the lane, causing the vehicle to spin and crashing afterwards.
The passengers who sustained injuries were rushed to nearby health facilities after they were rescued by passersby.
The police at the scene said the driver whose vehicle was involved in the accident did not have the required license to drive the vehicle as he held a class B license instead of C.
“I was travelling to Madina, but on our way, the driver was careless. Another car switched lane, and I don’t know what happened.Alll of a sudden, the vehicle somersaulted. It wasn’t anything serious, but the driver, because he was inexperienced, caused the vehicle to fall,” Akwesi Acquah, a passenger said.
“I thank God that I am alive because what happened was serious. A lot of people sustained severe injuries and have been rushed to the hospital, ” Mame Akua Amoah said.
The driver of the passenger car was later taken to the police station Police Station while the vehicle was towed.
