Fidelity Bank’s Orange Women’s Network Brings Festive Cheer to NICU Families at Korle-Bu

Must Read

Families with newborns at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital received a heartwarming gesture this festive season from Fidelity Bank’s Orange Women’s Network (OWN). The initiative provided critical support to 49 families grappling with the challenges of neonatal care, ensuring they could celebrate the season with hope and relief.

As part of the initiative, OWN donated essential baby supplies such as feeding accessories, clothing, and hygiene products. Financial assistance was also extended to cover medical expenses, including discharge fees, medication, and laboratory tests for the newborns.

Beyond material aid, the group provided emotional support, with OWN members offering counseling and sharing personal experiences to comfort families during what can be an emotionally taxing time.

“The festive season is meant to be a time of joy, but for families with babies in the NICU, it often brings stress and anxiety,” said Ms. Esi Mills-Robertson, a founding member of OWN and Marketing Director at Fidelity Bank. “Through this initiative, we aim to lighten their burden and bring some joy and comfort to these families.”

The NICU staff also benefited from the donations, receiving gloves, purple cannulas, plasters, packs of tissues, and gallons of liquid soap to support their work.

Established in 2016, OWN is committed to empowering women within Fidelity Bank through mentorship, leadership development, and capacity-building initiatives. This outreach underscores OWN’s mission of creating meaningful change, not only within the bank but also in the wider community.

By focusing on both practical and emotional needs, OWN’s initiative demonstrated the power of compassion and community support during the festive season, bringing hope to families navigating one of life’s most challenging moments.
