The Tema District of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) has won the GCCI Ghana Best District Award for the year 2023 Trumah and Pensions Fundraising Week Celebrations of the Church.
This was announced by Elder Samuel Doku, the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the GCCI Ghana in his 2022/2023 report of the Trumah and Pensions Week Celebrations of the Church to the Pre-Easter Missions Conference of GCCI Ghana Pastors.
The Trumah, which means ‘sacrifice’ is observed by GCCI Ghana to raise funds towards projects of the Church.
While the Pensions Week is observed in October each year to raise funds to support the Church’s Pension Scheme for its pastors and other workers.
GCCI Ghana has eight regions and 19 districts.
The total number of Assemblies covered by the report is 129, out of which 65 failed to observe the Trumah and Pensions Fundraising Week Celebration.
Trumah 2023’s best three Assemblies came from the Greater Accra Region: Agape Temple, Legon; Disciple Makers Temple (DMT) and Shalom.
The Greater Accra Region was adjudged the best in both the Trumah and Pensions Fundraising Week Celebrations in 2023.
Elder Doku commended GCCI Tema District, which is under the leadership of Rev Paul Morgan Adorsu, for being the only District in which all the seven Assemblies celebrated both the Trumah and Pensions Week Celebrations.
The Tema District of GCCI consists of Grace Temple, Maranatha Assembly, Mount Zion Assembly, Refuge Assembly, Tema Main Assembly, Tema Newtown Assembly and Prampram Assembly.
Elder Doku further appealed to all Pastors and Presiding Elders of GCCI Ghana to always ensure that the annual Trumah and Pensions Fundraising Week Celebrations were observed.
Apostle Dr Samuel Vincent Ansah, GCCI Ghana National Council Chair and Vice Chair of GCCI International Executive Council; commended the Board of Trustees for the excellent job done.
Other Members of the Board of Trustees present at the event were Professor Stella Asuming-Brempong, Elder Kingsley Obeng Amoako, Elder Seth Aglago and Elder Winfred Wunu.
In attendance at the Meeting were Apostle JFK Mensah, Chairman of GCCI International Executive Council; Apostle Prof Samuel Asuming-Brempong, Member of GCCI International Executive Council and immediate past Chairman of GCCI Ghana National Council; Apostle Dr Joseph Kwabena Antwi, a past Chairman of GCCI Ghana National Council; Apostle Richard Kwami Adanu, First Vice Chairman of GCCI Ghana in-charge of Missions, and Rev Godson Gbloe, Member of GCCI International Executive Council in-charge of Benin.
The rest are Rev Alexander Obeng Oguamenah, Director of Personnel; Rev Stephen Toku Cato, Director of Finance; Rev Dr Samuel Arthur, Director of Evangelism; Rev Charles Somerset Adanunyo, Director of Church Life and Rev Emmanuel Kodjo Oppong, Director of Ministries.
Other former Members of GCCI Ghana National Council who were also in attendance include Apostle Komla Ebenezer Hagan, Rev Charles Akasreku and Rev Alexander Boakye-Yiadom.
