International Gold Scam Exposed, Pastor and ‘Chief’ Fingered

Must Read

A petition has been filed by Kwasi Agyemang Gyan-Tutu on behalf of victims who fell prey to an elaborate international gold scam.
The petition, submitted to the Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), seeks urgent assistance to apprehend a group of fraudsters led by one Rev. Charles Nyarko, head of Divine International Services, and his accomplice, Samuel Brobbey, a self-proclaimed chief of Nsawam, Ghana.
According to the petition, the victims, John Amihere of Jodell Incorporated and Attorney Ishmael Thoronka, both based in the USA, were approached in December 2020 by Rev. Nyarko with a proposal to purchase a large consignment of gold.
The scheme involved Brobbey claiming to be a chief entrusted with gold by his community, requesting $450,000 to airlift the gold to the USA.
The victims, convinced by the involvement of one Bright Darkwa, purportedly a branch manager of Access Bank Ghana, transferred the funds.
Despite receiving the money, the group failed to deliver the gold and has since gone underground, leaving the victims defrauded.
Thoronka’s statement reveals how Nyarko used his long-term relationship with him to gain trust, offering a seemingly safer gold supply from Ghana when a previous deal in Tanzania was abandoned.
Nyarko’s promise of an 80% return on the investment only deepened the deception.
The victims now call on the Ghana Police Service to investigate the fraud, recover the $450,000, and bring the culprits to justice.
The petition names additional members of the group, including Israel Boa Amponsem, the country representative of Divine International Services, and Bright Darkwa.
*The case highlights the ongoing dangers of gold scams involving fake chiefs and fraudulent investment opportunities, which continue to target unsuspecting individuals globally.
The CID is yet to make an official statement regarding the investigation.
Key figures in the scam:
Rev. Charles Nyarko – Alleged mastermind, currently believed to be in Dubai.
Samuel Brobbey – Claimed chief of Nsawam, Ghana.
Bright Darkwa – Allegedly posed as Access Bank branch manager.
