Kasoa: Two Arrested and Remanded for Unlawful Possession Of Firearm, Pepper Spray

The Kasoa Akweley District Court presided over by his Honor Stephen Ofori Akrasi has remanded two suspects for being in possession of a firearm and Pepper spray without lawful authorization contrary to sections 192 of the criminal and other offences act, 1960(act 29)

The suspects are Bingo Bordon 34 a Barber and Emmanuel Yakpah, 26 year old also a mason and a residents of Kwashiman and Kanneshie respectively.

Presenting the case at the Court, Prosecutor of Kasoa Akweley District Court, Inspector Cephase Atsyor says , on 10th June 2023, the Kasoa Divisional Patrol Team were on duty at Oklu Nkwanta on a routine search.

Inspector Cephase Atsyor indicated that during the search , the police team arrested the suspects Bingo Bordon and Emmanuel Yakpah in possession of a Pistol with a serial number 352779 , one pepper spray, Ghc 1,400 and Talisman.

He says upon investigations, Bingo Bordon revealed that the pistol was given to him by a Military officer to keep.

The suspects were arrested and later arainged before court to reappear again on 27th June , 2023.

The Patrol team was on a routine check at the Only Nkwanta barrier. They encountered the two individuals in possession of a gun and a paper spray plus an amount of money. The suspect gave reasons for being in possession of the items not upon careful look they became more suspicious “Inspector Cephas Atsyor said.
