Mahama revokes appointment of Minerals Fund CEO

The Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund (MIIF), Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng, has had his appointment revoked with immediate effect by President John Dramani Mahama

In an official letter dated January 13, 2025, and signed by Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., Secretary to the President, Mr. Koranteng was directed to hand over his duties to the President’s representative at the Ministry of Finance. Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has been designated to oversee the operations of the fund until a substantive CEO is appointed.

The letter expressed the President’s gratitude to Mr. Koranteng for his service to the nation during his tenure.

The correspondence was copied to key government officials, including the Vice President, the Chief of Staff, and Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson.

This development is expected to set the tone for further strategic adjustments within the management of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund under the new administration.
