Mahama swears in 17 Ministers, Okudzeto and Sam George take key roles

President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in a new batch of Ministers of State, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to effective governance and national development.

The ceremony, held at the Jubilee House, saw the appointees take the oath of office and secrecy as they pledged to serve the nation with diligence and integrity.

The new ministers, drawn from various regions and sectors, include key figures such as Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, Minister for Health; Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Foreign Affairs; and Seidu Issifu, Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability. Others sworn in include Charity Gardiner, Minister for Ahafo Region; Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister responsible for Government Communications; and Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations.

In his address, President Mahama urged the newly sworn-in ministers to remain committed to their mandates and work in the best interest of Ghanaians. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in tackling national challenges, particularly in health, employment, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.

“You have been chosen to serve at a crucial time in our nation’s history. The people of Ghana expect accountability, dedication, and transformational leadership. I trust that each of you will uphold these expectations and contribute to the success of our development agenda,” President Mahama stated.

The newly appointed ministers, representing diverse backgrounds and expertise, are expected to bring fresh perspectives and dynamic leadership to their respective portfolios. Key appointees such as Kofi Iddie Adams, Minister for Sports and Recreation, and Joseph Bukari Nikpe, Minister for Transport, will be responsible for revitalizing their sectors and ensuring efficient service delivery.
