Military commander shot dead by armed bandits in Bawku

Must Read

A field commander of the Ghana Armed Forces, Eliasu Tanko has been reportedly murdered following a brutal attack by armed men in Bawku.

News of the dastardly act has gone viral on social media, with many sharing news of the fatal shootings and killing of the commander

Tension in the troubled Bawku enclave has escalated in recent weeks since the turn of the year, with series of fatal attacks.

However, the daring attacks on troops and the reported killing of its field commander by armed civilians, have taken the disturbances to a worryingly unprecedented level.

Residents and people concerned, who have been commenting on social media platforms since the news broke out, have expressed their frustrations, and have called on the government to act, following its promise to end the feud.

Many expressed fear that with men possessing arms, and now able to open fire and attack the army, the situation is getting worse and more frightening, rather than peace being restored as the government assured.
