ORAL Team not inviting anyone— Okudzeto Ablakwa

Must Read

A member of the ORAL team has dismissed calls from the minority for the public to boycott invitations by the team, clarifying that no such invitations are currently being extended.

In an interview with Channel One, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, explained that the ORAL team is in the initial phase of its work, focused solely on gathering information.

He emphasized that this stage does not involve inviting individuals for interrogation.

“”Let’s situate this in proper context…. our mandate at this time is simply to gather information, that’s all we are doing,” he said. “We are a receptacle, we are receiving evidence, information, data, and when we have received that, we want to make sure our information is credible.”

Ablakwa further explained that phase two of the process would involve organizations like the Attorney General’s Office and the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), which will lead efforts to invite individuals for investigations.

The clarification comes amidst concerns raised by some members of the minority regarding the transparency and intentions of the ORAL team.
