OSP eliminates 5 Cecilia Dapaah bank accounts from tainted property list

The Special Prosecutor has eliminated five bank accounts belonging to former sanitation minister Cecilia Dapaah from its tainted property list.

The office of the special prosecutor commenced investigations in July 2023 in respect of suspected corruption and corruption-related offences regarding large amounts of money and other valuable items involving Ms Dapaah after huge sums were stolen from her private property at Abelemkpe in Accra.

The special prosecutor took measures, including issuing a freezing order in respect of the bank accounts and other financial assets of Ms Dapaah to facilitate the investigations.

“Subsequently, the investigations have eliminated five of the bank accounts of Ms Dapaah from suspicion of being tanited property”, a statement signed by Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng announced on Monday, 16 October 2023.

Also, the special prosecutor announced that ot has “revoked the freezing order in respect of the eliminated five bank accounts of Ms Dapaah”.

However, “the freezing order is still in place and effect in respect of the other bank accounts and financial assets of Ms Dapaah”, the OSP said.
