The palace two paramountcies within the Greater Accra region-Osu and Teshie, are under lock and key, with police officers stationed at the entrance of the palace to prevent anyone from entering.
The Inquirer is aware of the multiple court cases that have rocked the various factions with interest in who occupies seat as the chief but never did we anticipate that such feuds could lead to the lock up of the palaces whiles the youth look on.
One of the Police officers stationed at the Osu palace told this paper when we asked why the palace has been locked up that, “You know because of their chieftaincy issues we have to be here to prevent damage to life and property. So we run shifts. We shuffle between Teshie and Osu and so far, there has been no major incident.”
The Inquirer is keenly monitoring developments on the circumstances under which the palace was locked and when it is likely to be opened for the rightful person to occupy the palace.
