President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh as the Chairman of the newly established Constitution Review Committee.

The committee, comprising distinguished legal and governance experts, is tasked with addressing gaps and challenges identified in the nation’s constitutional framework.

Prof. Prempeh, a highly regarded scholar and governance advocate, brings a wealth of experience to the role. With a stellar track record in constitutional law and governance reforms, his leadership is expected to steer the committee toward actionable and impactful recommendations. As chairman, he will oversee deliberations, engage stakeholders, and guide the committee in reviewing prior work done by the 2010 Constitution Review Commission and the 2023 Constitution Review Consultative Committee.

The eight-member committee includes notable figures such as Justice Sophia Adinyirah, Prof. Kwame Karikari, and Mrs. Charlotte Osei. Under Prof. Prempeh’s leadership, they will work collaboratively to propose amendments to the 1992 Constitution, focusing on strengthening democratic governance and ensuring inclusivity in the review process.
