The Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), Sammy Gyamfi, has categorically denied allegations that he spent GHS173,940 on office renovations, calling the claims “totally false” and a desperate attempt by elements of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to spread disinformation.
In a strongly worded statement on X, Gyamfi, who is also the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), dismissed reports suggesting that he had changed his office chair, desk, fridge, and office design since assuming office on January 20, 2024.
“I have made no changes to my office since assuming office as Acting MD for PMMC. All the things in my office, including chair, desk, fridge, etc., were there before I assumed office. Not even the A4 sheets or pens on my office desk have been changed,” he clarified.
Gyamfi accused the NPP of fabricating the allegations as part of a broader campaign of misinformation, following the party’s humiliating defeat in the 2024 general elections. He urged the general public to be wary of false claims propagated by NPP communicators and social media operatives.
“This fact can easily be verified by any reasonable person,” he asserted.
The NDC firebrand further called on Ghanaians to double-check any claims made by the NPP to avoid falling for their “deliberate disinformation narratives.”
The alleged office renovation claim has sparked heated debate on social media, with supporters of both political parties exchanging views on the matter. While some critics insist on accountability, many have rallied behind Gyamfi, demanding evidence to support the allegations.
