The Member of Parliament for South Tongu in the Volta Region, Hon. Maxwell Lukutor, has begun a town hall meeting and thank you tour across his constituency. The tour aims to express gratitude to the communities for their overwhelming support during the 2024 elections which culminated in the constituency obtaining the highest percentage of votes for the NDC .
Hon. Lukutor reiterated President John Dramani Mahama’s promises and his commitment to fulfilling them. He emphasized his duty to bring the constituency’s concerns to the government’s attention and ensure their involvement in the national budget.
Key issues discussed during the tour include the water situation in South Tongu, which Hon. Lukutor has already raised on the floor of parliament.
He also encouraged the qualified youth to register with their Assembly members to access employment opportunities when the opportunity presents itself.
Additionally, Hon. Lukutor highlighted the First Lady’s program to support women’s vocational training and promised to provide tractors services at a discount to aid farmers in their farming activities .
He also pledged to more aged and needy individuals in the LEAP program.
The South Tongu constituency, with a population of about 123,000, is predominantly comprised of farmers, fishermen, and petty traders. Hon. Lukutor’s commitment to development is expected to bring significant benefits to the community .
