Sunak calls for immediate release of hostages held by Hamas

Rishi Sunak is on his feet at the dispatch box as he starts to address a busy House of Commons by condemning the attacks in Israel.

He says almost 200 people have been taken hostage as he notes elderly men, women, children and babies were “murdered, mutilated and burned alive”.

Some of families of those missing are in the public gallery, Sunak adds.

He says: “We call for the immediate release of all hostages.”

Sunak confirms at least six British people have been killed.

A further ten are missing, he adds.-BBC
