Prof Smart Sarpong, the director of research and innovation at the Kumasi Technical University (KTU) has said there will be a first round win for one of the leading candidates in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer race come 4 November.
Speaking with Benjamin Offei-Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Monday (30 October), Prof Sarpong said, “The option of a run-off may not occur. I don’t expect a run-off; it is going to be a one-time victory for one of the candidates.”
He said the leading candidates in the race cannot be complacent and must work hard to attain victory.
“Followers of Bawumia who voted in the Super Delegates Conference must work hard to influence more people at the grassroots; there is a certain relationship.”
Prof Sarpong added: “All of the two leading teams are working hard… unfortunately I do not see Addai-Nimoh or Afriyie Akoto to cause any upset…”
