Woman, son found dead in residential apartment in Budumburam camp

A woman believed to be in her 30s and her 13 year old son have been found dead at their residential apartment in Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the central region.

Residence were amazed by a stench that emanated from the room housing the woman who residents say is from Liberia.

They later followed up to uncover the dead bodies.

Neighbour’s say both mother and son had not been seen for a couple of days since the apartment ha been locked

Neighbors and nearby residents were alarmed by the hovering of flies around the area and the bad stench emanating from the apartment on Wednesday, June 14.

Some of them peeped through the windows of the apartment and found the bodies in a early stages of decomposition and subsequently informed police.

Mary Amoah, a neighbor, told the media that they were surprised about the incident and begun asking questions as to what might have killed the Liberian woman and her son.

“We noticed something unusual this morning when we notice that the Liberian woman had not been seen for several day. I remember she told me that she wanted to prepare beans and plantain but since that time we have not seen them again. We started speculating on where they might be together with her child. But we also notice house fly hovering around the house where they lived. This drew the attention of more resident who came to the area” Mary Amoah said.

However, police encountered difficulty in retrieving the body from the room as a result of the strong stench but subsequently did that after they disinfected the room.
