Winneba: Afenyo Markin celebrate teachers in Effutu

The Member of Parliament for Effutu constituency Alexander Afenyo Markin has awarded hard working teachers and schools both private and public in the Effutu constituency for their dedicated service and hard work.

The teachers received awards ranging from fridges, certificates, among others.

According to the Member of Parliament who doubles as the Deputy Majority leader of Ghana’s Parliament the gesture will go a long way to motivate teachers within the Effutu enclave to give out their best.

“This award ceremony organized yearly is meant to motivate teachers within the Effutu enclave to give out their best in terms of service delivery. The award will is also meant to serve as a reminder to the teachers within Effutu that we appreciate what they do”Afenyo Markin said.

The Effutu legislator while addressing the gathering at the University of Education, Winneba noted that the work of the teacher is unique and hence must be appreciated while they are at work.

The MP also expressed worry over recent scenarios where party supporters come to him for financial support or business startups and end up misusing them.

Afenyo Markin explained that this phenominon is not only happening to him but across the length and bredth of the country with various MP’s suffering similar faith.

“I am not the only MP who is facing such challenges. This is a challenge most MP’s are facing and it must be checked. People come to you for financial support or startups and they end up wasting the money while others are in dying need of it struggle”the Effutu legislator said.

The Deputy Majority leader also urged teachers within the Effutu enclave to give out their best to ensure children within the enclave excell in academics.

“I challenge teachers to take up this mantle by ensuring that teachers within this enclave do well in the Basic Education Certificate Examination and make Effutu proud”Afenyo Markin noted.
